Japan Flight Give Away Not to Go Ahead

In October 2011 there were reports in a number of media outlets about the Japan Tourism Agency proposing to give away 10,000 free flights to Japan in 2012. It is with regret that we inform you that the proposal was not approved in the process for the Budget 2012 in Japan.

Thanks to the support of the international community, Japan is making vigorous progress towards reconstruction in the earthquake and tsunami affected areas.

We realise that this announcement is going to disappoint thousands of people around the world, but we hope people will understand that the result came after various discussions and consultations.

Business is operating normally in places popular with Australian and New Zealand visitors to Japan –such as Tokyo, Kyoto, Hiroshima, Hokkaido and Nagano- and Japan is ready and waiting to welcome visitors more warmly than ever before.
