Koyasan and Kumano are two notable sacred sites in the Kansai region (Wakayama Prefecture), and are getting more and more popular among international tourists.

Koyasan is the eternal sacred site of Shingon sect of esoteric Buddhism with more than 1,200 years of history and Kumano is a holy ground of nature worship where god resides, where tourists can touch the spiritual culture, natural beauty and aesthetic sense of the Japanese.

A convenient access bus connecting these two spots is available from April through November.

The bus goes through picturesque places along the Koya Ryujin Skyline and makes a stop at Ryujin Onsen.
